 Kente ia a symbol of pride and social status as chiefs, elders and wealthy people wear them to reflect their nobleness and affluence.most people in Ghana use the kente fabric for different occasions and functions,Kente is a very expensive fabric which is worn by different cultural and traditional backgrounds of people living in the country.at one time only royals could commission the fabric but nowadays it looks likes  the normal individual can also rock in the Kente in many ways. the Kente aids is the recognition of special moments such as a symbol of respect for the departed during the rites of burial and ancestral remembrances. it is also worn when an event such as engagement, graduations and naming ceremony is taking place. kente is an all purpose piece of textile which is an embodiment of our rich cultural heritage of Ghana.

histroy about kente from Ghana

Kente cloth is a  fabrics which is manufactured in Ghana but originated by the Ashanti people in a village called Bonwire in Kumasi. the cloth was discovered by two brother named  Kurugu and Ameyaw who were hunters.one day the brothers on their way to hunting saw a spider spinning a web. they stood somewhere and watched the spider as it spin its web the brothers after watching the art went back home and set a tread together with a wooden stick and begun to weave as they got designs from the piece of work. they made the first cloth out of black and white fibers from a raffia tree.                                                        Now  Bonwire town is well known for best kente cloth in Ghana.
